Course Description
This course help students to know basic concepts of evaluation in educatioan and language teaching, to know the development of language testing from traditional to modern era, to equip knowledge and practices of developing language test and to exercise language test and evaluation product. To reflect their course, the students are required to compile an individual report.
Objectives
By the end of the course students will have had the experience and knowledge in concepts of evaluation in education and language teaching, developing language test and analyze a language test.
Activities
The main activities develop in this course are discussion and written report.
Evaluation
Students’ grades will be based on the scores given by supervisor (70%) and quality written report (30%).
Assignment
1. Find testing profile for: writing test, speaking test, listening and reading test.
2. Prepare try-out: select a set of test give to 10.20 students, analyze degree of difficulty (p), discrimination (D), p&D, validity and reliability.
3. Writing the report of item analysis in form: Introduction, subject, characteristics of the test, realiability estimate, validity estimate and discrimination power.
